200 hour Yoga Teacher Training

The desire to teach yoga often comes from a place of love and appreciation of practices that explore body and mind while uncovering deeper truths of spirit and self. This training gives you the tools of knowledge and leadership in order to guide your students to an experience of the benefits this ancient system has to offer. 

This extensive training will cover:

-Fundamental Yoga Asana
with a focus on body mechanics and anatomy.

-Meditation- 

-Yoga Philosophy- covering the eight limbs of yoga as found in:
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
The Bhagavad Gita
The Upanishads

-Pranayama(breathing practices)

-Mantra

-Teaching methodology

-Anatomy and Basic Kinesiology-

Business/marketing basics in teaching yoga 

When people first come to a practice of yoga, they usually think of the physical practice of poses, for that reason the first emphasis of this training is teaching safe, therapeutic breathing and body movement, which naturally supports healthy posture. In order to facilitate this we will study anatomy and kinesiology (the study of movement) in very approachable ways.

Students of yoga often start with postures but end up loving the practice for the numerous other benefits in their emotional health and their spiritual life. We'll dive deeply into our own practices, using them to lead a journey through self exploration, a path every teacher must undertake to be authentic in sharing what they've discovered in their own experience. Meditation becomes key to guiding us in this odyssey.

At the same time we will explore the barriers to communication and how to move past them in order to become more effective interpersonal relationships, with students and beyond. Understanding and sharing our own limitations in body and mind helps us cultivate compassion and understanding for the wide variety of experiences that can be had by yoga students.

From the beginner to the more experienced practitioner, there is something for everyone in this training. Even if you don't wish to be a teacher this course can deepen your understanding in dynamic ways. Always keeping the perspective of the student in mind, we consistently become better leaders. Whatever your chosen path, this training can help you bring about healthy change in your life and others!
